About Us
So, the desire to explore the world as a family initially faded into the background. Aside from annual visits to Grandma and Grandpa, we focused (again) on Europe and found everything we, as a family, imagined for a relaxing yet varied vacation, especially in family and club hotels. This remained the case even with two and then three children.
But as the children grew older, we became more and more eager to explore the world as a family. So, in the summer of 2022, we took our first “real” long-distance trip to Florida. And rest assured, it won’t be our last long-distance trip!
Hi, I’m Svenja
I’m in my mid-30s and a mother of three daughters – the oldest is 6, the middle one is 4, and our baby girl was born in March 2025. My husband’s job took us to Chicago, USA, in early 2019. Our children were born here, and we now feel very much at home here.
Like Jacqueline, I experienced the tradition of always vacationing in the same place. We also spent every summer vacation on the North Sea and our Easter or fall holidays in Switzerland.
My real passion for travel came t life during my semester abroad in New Zealand. When I met my husband, who spent part of his studies in Asia, we started traveling more – and our destinations got more “exotic”. And when we then moved to Chicago in 2018, a whole new chapter began (life- and travel-wise).
With our three girls in tow, the five of us are now exploring the world and are looking forward to introducing ourselves and our children to a wide variety of cultural experiences.
