Sunshine, Beach & Roby Club – Our Algarve Fall vacation at the Robinson Club Quinta da Ria

After five years of vacations in the mountains, in faraway places, or at sea, it was time for a European beach club again. So, at the beginning of October, we spent ten relaxing, sunny days in the eastern Algarve at the Robinson Club Quinta da Ria – and, to be honest, we were completely surprised by how beautiful and peaceful this region is. Far from the typical tourist hotspots, everything here feels more relaxed, authentic, and less crowded. Especially during the off-season, this was a real advantage for us as a family.

Suitcases packed, lines set sail – a cruise with kids

Many people associate cruises with shuffleboard, buffets, and retirees – but that image is outdated. More and more families are discovering the joys of cruising, as onboard cruises often feature kids’ clubs, pools, and endless leisure activities. Parents can relax while the kids play and have fun. Another advantage is that you only pack once and see many places. Of course, there are also disadvantages: cabins are smaller, extras can be expensive, and you have to keep a close eye on the children. Ocean-going ships offer plenty of entertainment but are often more crowded. River cruises are quieter, more manageable, and closer to the cities. Our conclusion: cruises aren’t a magic bullet, but they can be a special family experience – if you choose the right type of trip. Read our blog post to find out what makes each type of cruise appealing!

Khao Lak – Worth it During Rainy Season?

The last stop on our Thailand trip was to be Khao Lak. Many people are familiar with the region surrounding the town itself, especially after the devastating tsunami in 2004, which killed around 230,000 people. Today, the only reminders of this terrible event are a kind of museum and the many evacuation signs. Otherwise, opinions
